摘要: Abstract The demand for container terminal yards is growing significantly faster than the supply of available land; therefore, containers are typically stacked high to better utilize land space in yards. However, process retrieval, non-productive reshuffling may be required relocate that on top target container. Container retrieval directly related operational efficiency terminals. Because industry has become increasingly competitive, it critical introduce a systematic approach retrieving containers. In this study, we develop heuristic can generate feasible working plans rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGC) minimize number movements while taking RMGC time into consideration. methodology takes consideration case grouped terms their order. Multi-lift models also studied. Comprehensive numerical experiments reveal method runs other methods published literature by several orders magnitude; additionally, our able solve instances larger practical use. approaches theoretical lower bound, and results clearly demonstrate tradeoff between time, provide useful insights yard planning.
