摘要: Since the early 1970s Shell's research has been involved in syngas chemistry with special focus on routes to convert (remote) natural gas into easily transportable liquid hydrocarbons. This resulted development of SMDS process. The world's first commercial plant is being constructed a site adjoining Bintulu LNG Sarawak, Malaysia, and will come stream last quarter 1992. heart an enhanced Fischer-Tropsch However, direct FT synthesis does not allow selective production materials narrow carbon number range. To overcome this limitation flexible two-stage concept developed, which combines chain-length-independent chain-growth reaction chain-length-dependent cracking Naphtha, kerosene oil yield ratios can be varied from 15∶25∶60 25∶50∶25. Both show excellent combustion properties: smoke point over 45 mm cetane excess 70. Further attention paid because its impact overall process efficiency, selection multitubular reactors, environmental merits clean, aromatics-free products.
