摘要: People with severe low back pain are at higher risk of poor health. Patients scheduled for lumbar fusion surgery assumed to have levels physical activity, but few data exist. The aim the study was firstly investigate preoperative objectively measured activity in patients waiting surgery, and secondly whether factors fear-avoidance model were associated these levels. We included 118 (63 women 55 men; mean age 46 years). Physical expressed as steps per day total time spent least moderate-intensity assessed ActiGraph GT3X+ accelerometers. compared WHO recommendations on Whether evaluated by two different multiple linear regression models. Ninety-six (83%) did not reach health, 19 (16%) took fewer than 5000 day, which indicates a sedentary lifestyle. On group level, scores fear movement disability lower numbers day. A high proportion therefore health due insufficient activity. also found negative association between both disability, number Action needs be taken motivate more physically active before improve postoperatively. There is need interventions aimed increasing reducing barriers prehabilitation phase this patient group. Current Controlled Trials ISCRTN 17115599 , retrospectively Registered 18 may 2015.
