摘要: The caudate nucleus has the highest acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in brain and it been shown that autopsied tissue of patients with Huntington's disease (HD) have reduced levels acetylcholine. Because these findings, cholinergic function HD was studied by measuring cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) choline AChE during a randomized, double-blind, cross-over, placebo-controlled clinical trial isoniazid. While mean adjusted for age were lower compared controls (P=0.0007), did not differ between normal controls. Treatment isoniazid had no significant effect on CSF or activity. showed statistically increase advancing age. level may reflect either defect transport into decrease choline-phospholipid output from brain.
