摘要: Knowledge of the characteristics vascular smooth muscle cells is important in understanding physicomechanical properties, functions, mechanisms development, remodelling, regeneration blood vessels, development and progression their diseases like atherosclerosis. As latter become more common, there need to understand pathogenesis inform mitigation strategies. Goat a suitable model for studies but organization its aorta have not been elucidated. This study therefore examined goat. Materials were obtained from aortae six healthy young adult male domestic goats ( Capra hircus ) [age range 12 – 36 months]. Specimens thoracic fixed glutaraldehyde, post osmium tetroxide processed ducurpan embedding. Ultrathin sections stained with uranyl acetate, counterstained lead citrate by transmission electron microscope. The aortic tunica media contained several phenotypic dispositions cells; spindle shaped or elongated organelle - poor irregularly rich rough endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria prominent nucleus. also ran various directions: transverse, oblique longitudinal. These findings reveal that goat are phenotypically heterogeneous run multiple directions. probably confer mechanical strength functional plasticity wall. Designers substitutes should bear this mind.
