Gold Removal and Recovery using Mesoporous Silica Adsorbents

摘要: Two gold-selective adsorbents were prepared from MCM-41 by grafting amino and thiol groups. The mesoporous silica possess higher adsorption capacity for gold compared to activated carbons. OMSNH2 adsorbent was able selectively remove adsorb solutions containing copper. Pure recovered a simple acid wash the regenerated could be reused. OMS-SH also gold, but always with small quantity of copper (ca 1-5 at. %). In addition, metals irreversibly adsorbed on can not easily recovered.
