摘要: Plastic scintillators available on the market suffer from radiation damage at doses much lower than ones expected SSC. The two major effects are induced transmission losses and to scintillating fluors. dominant radiation-induced absorption in blue part of spectrum can be remedied by use large Stokes shift fluors emitting green region above 500 nm. With these fluors, newly produced based polyvinyltoluene polystyrene have greatly enhanced resistance. In cases when even improved plastic will fail, liquid used. When damaged, active material replaced without dismounting detector modules. Contrary expectations, our tests showed that standard formulations damaged rather low 1–5 Mrad. Newly developed significantly more resistant.
