摘要: Chronic, isolated, ileal (Thiry-Vella) loops in rabbits have been used to study the role of Peyer9s patches local immune response intestine live, locally invasive bacteria. Three weekly doses Shigella X16 were administered these isolated and IgA IgG activity against shigella measured samples sera loop secretions by using an enzymelinked immunoassay technique. Secretions from containing a patch exhibited stronger early bacteria than did lacking patch. The enhanced may reflect more efficient processing antigen specialized follicle-associated epithelium that overlies patches, or it be result increased chance encountering immunocompetent cells among large number lymphocytes However, later fluids both types comparable. immunity achieved resulted invasion with stimulation lamina propria, bacterial antigens brought mesenteric lymph nodes for processing. Alternatively, if small lymphoid follicles (which are present throughout although not visible without histologic examination) functional capabilities similar those they play seen loops. Clearly, important structures, but is still unknown whether can exert some unique influence on gut, gained eminence over smaller intestinal structures virtue their prominence.
