摘要: Three cases of massive squamous cell metaplasia in Hashimoto's thyroiditis are reported. The patients were two men and one woman aged 24, 52, 55 years, respectively. In all three patients, the glandular parenchyma was replaced by hypocellular fibrous tissue with scattered chronic inflammatory infiltrate. Follicular cells almost absent; majority residual epithelial formed nests that partly solid cystic. There types - squamous, basaloid, follicular, oncocytic differentiation. basaloid showed strong positivity high molecular weight (HMW) cytokeratin, moderate to expression galectin-3 (2/3), nuclear p63 protein (2/3). staining pattern identical HMW, predominant at periphery nests. case, weak but unequivocal thyroid transcription factor-1 also present. We believe caused thyroiditis. presented here extremely rare, only convincing similar have been reported English literature so far. They may represent a diagnostic pitfall should not be misdiagnosed as malignancy, particular or mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
