摘要: Juvenile Penaeus monodon prawns were bathed in seawater-formaldehyde concentrations of 3 12, 625, and 1,250 ppm for up to 6 h. The tests conducted at excess those previ- ously published, order examine maximum toler- ance levels formaldehyde. Physiological stress was monitored by measurement blood glucose levels. Under controlled laboratory conditions, 12 h food de- prived juvenile exposed formaldehyde con- centrations did not exhibit signs stress. However, bathing 625 ppm, caused significant increases (P < 0.05) after 2 4 h, respec- tively. There no mortalities any treatment group. In contrast, from grow-out ponds immediate- ly 2.5 transport glucose. This may be due their nutritional status these results are discussed. No change ob- served bilaterally eyestalk ablated ex- posure increase is pre- sumably mediated a response, which includes crustacean hyperglycemic hormone (CHH), result non-specific cell lysis death.
