Speech act and tonal pattern in Standard Chinese: constancy and variation.

摘要: This paper is a study of how speech act (statement, question, focus) influences some tonal patterns in Standard Chinese. The material presents four five acts produced three times each by 4 speakers. To limit the size comparisons, one speakers analyzed first, others are then compared with him. analysis constant and varying features interaction pattern uses model intonation described elsewhere. results indicate that Chinese prosody shares other languages number general which were taken as basis for model.
