Antiproliferative and apoptotic activities of Cola lepidota against estrogen receptor positive breast cancer cells

摘要: The stem bark, seed, roots and leaves of Cola lepidota have been used for various health conditions in Nigeria folk medicine including treatment cancer related ailments. study evaluated the antiproliferative apoptotic effects extracts bark on breast (MCF-7) cell line. Powdered were extracted with methanol concentrated vacuo. Extracts partitioned petroleum ether, chloroform ethyl acetate successively. extract fractions screened activities using flow cytometry. leaf (CLL-M) demonstrated significant (p < 0.01) activity against estrogen receptor positive cells (26.09 %), while fraction (CLS-CH) showed 0.001) activity. lends support to ethnomedicinal use indicates potential plant as source natural anticancer agent.
