摘要: Current understanding of the term "concussion" is fraught with misconceptions regarding extent and nature brain injury. Despite increasing attention in popular media within context sports, considerable gaps exist our knowledge diagnosis, underlying pathology, recovery function, optimal interventions for concussion. In this special interest article, we discuss definition risk factors associated concussion, summarize highlight some most widely used assessment tools, critique evidence current principles concussion management. Our evaluation has identified opportunities novel neuroimaging techniques to improve pathophysiology evaluate changes recovering response rehabilitation. summary, a clear potential long-term consequences, injury will help guide future research aiming minimize impact develop innovative successful therapeutic approaches aimed at ameliorating functional impairments
