摘要: We studied the colonization of habitats by four species iguanid lizard (Urosaurus ornatus, Sceloporus graciosus, S. undulatus, and Uta stansburiana) to determine differences among in colonization, habitat types time trajectory colonization. surveyed lizards on eight study plots three after a density reduction experiment. discovered no difference their recovery relative numbers removed. However, there were significant habitats, suggesting an important role type resilience perturbation. Colonization was rapid most colonized within 2 3 mo manipulation. One year experiment, all represented plots. Saturation (ratio marked number removed each plot) significantly different between first other post-manipulation census periods. There saturation second (1 yr), third (15 mo) fourth (27 periods, asymptotic 1 yr The pattern resident similar that (residents transients). species, but period saturation.
