摘要: Background:  Undergraduate students need information for various reasons. However, it is not a straightforward activity in retrieving the relevant accomplishing needs. This research therefore justified as aims at understanding needs of undergraduate who are drawn from security organisations. Objectives:  The main objective this study was to analyse needs, sources and seeking patterns studies Mzuzu University. Method: adopted mixed methods approach by sending questionnaire 108 conducting set three focus group discussions. The informed Kuhlthau’s search process model. Results: finds that most preferred Internet source information. further mainly academic activities, assignments, preparing examinations completing projects. Most engines starting point an search. Feelings proposed model, which include anxiety, optimism, uncertainty excitement, were experienced they started assignment. there exist number challenges affect students’ behaviour, such lack online literacy skills, poor access shortage computer laboratories. Conclusion:  Unlike previous studies, establishes upgrading focussed more on work-related purposes.
