摘要: The microstructure and the mechanical properties of a low-carbon Al/Si-alloyed carbide-free bainitic steel austempered at temperatures between 300 350 °C have been investigated by means optical microscopy, scanning electron transmission x-ray diffraction analysis, property tests. results show that an excellent combination tensile strength, ductility, impact toughness is obtained austempering temperature 320 °C—but neither lowest nor highest °C. These are correlated with features constituent phases microstructure, especially amount size retained austenite, which largely dependent on temperature. observations also due to inconsistent effects strain-induced martensitic transformation toughness. present study suggest optimized isothermal may exist for any other steel, which, if treatment carried out, improved can be obtained.
