摘要: BACKGROUND The total tenderness score (TTS) is commonly used in headache practice and contributes valuable information. OBJECTIVE To assess muscle scores patients diagnosed with Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) analyse their associations various demographic clinical parameters. METHODS Masticatory (MTS), cervical (CTS) TTSs were analysed this case-control study among 192 TMD 99 controls. included a questionnaire examination following RDC/TMD guidelines. Data using: Pearson's chi-square, analysis of variance, t test Bonferroni post hoc. examine the factors associated MTS multivariate manner, conceptual hierarchical multiple regression model was adopted. RESULTS TTS differed between sub-groups Muscle positively with: female sex, whiplash history, parafunction, co-morbid pains such as headaches body pain, pain intensity, onset, frequency duration. In model, duration, mediators relationship diagnosis MTS. CONCLUSION disease characteristics conditions, which may reflect severity. populations be routine patient workup, to MMD severity changes over time well treatments response research tool. can common methodology describe both masticatory facilitate interprofessional crosstalk oro-facial practitioners.
