摘要: Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of solutions containing adenine [or various methylated derivatives] (M) and AgNO3 yields polymeric [Mx + Agy − zH](y−z)+ species. The stoichiometry, collision-induced dissociation fragmentation pathways, ion–molecule reactions with H2O, CH3OH, CH3CN, BuNH2, pyridine for the adenine– 1-methyladenine–silver complexes are consistent model structures that comprise [M2Ag2] closed “dimers”. [(adenine)2Ag2] subunits involve N(3) N(9) complexation linked via a bridging silver ion at N(7) position. In contrast, results from 6-N,N-dimethyladenine–silver more “linear model” structure. Other systems give different types spectra, depending on site methylation. Maps in which polymer ions observed generated as function M (where Mx = number or methyladenine units) versus highlight those follow do not.
