摘要: Many disease outcomes are more promising when diseases identified and treated early. This chapter overviews three broad categories of behaviour that bring about early detection treatment: (a) increasing screening uptake, (b) self-testing, (c) seeking medical care in response to symptoms. The shows there is opportunity for improving morbidity mortality via all behaviours, but research has tended neglect theory. Beliefs other social cognitions appear relevant behaviours. For attendance, generic theories have been successfully applied. Constructs within risk, such as perceived susceptibility, self-efficacy efficacy, seem important whereas help-seeking symptoms seems rely on expectations illness schemata. Context where the usefulness constructs varies between settings. It that, based evidence, future work adequately theorises different processes contexts allow interventions benefit from existing work.
