摘要: The use of nitro-vasodilators for achieving rapid uterine relaxation in the resolution obstetric emergencies has been documented nearly 120 years. Glyceryltrinitrate (GTN) is most commonly used nitro-vasodilator this purpose, with presumed mechanism action being via nitric oxide and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) mediated processes. GTN known to release effect smooth muscle some dose response data available its vasodilator activity. Human myometrium synthesize respond oxide, changes production sensitivity subject cyclical gestational state uterus. Experimental on efficacy reliably producing conflicting inconsistent. A total 32 studies case reports have appeared English language literature. Case are reporting bias prospective randomized controlled trials not without design flaws. Indications cover antepartum, intrapartum postpartum periods. safety during appears high, no adverse maternal or neonatal outcomes. To establish relaxation, well designed labouring women required.
