摘要: 2-Methylisoborneol (MIB) and structurally related terpenoid compounds are responsible for millions of dollars lost revenue to catfish farmers. In an attempt determine enzymatic pathways biotransformation elimination MIB, the in vitro metabolism MIB was examined Ulvade strain channel (Ictalurus punctatus). Although cytochrome P450 (CYP) activities were observed correlated with expression specific isoforms (i.e. steroid hydroxylation CYP3A expression), no metabolites observed. To whether extrahepatic may be occurring vivo disposition 14C-MIB Uvalde, USDA-103 catfish, a X blue furcatus) hybrid species. Confirming hepatic studies, plasma from animals treated intra-arterial dose 14C-MIB. predicted using two compartment model each fish. There significant difference terminal half-lives between strains but possible differences total body clearance apparent volumes distribution which higher lipid content hybrids. Results these studies indicate has involvement that other physiological processes play more role within Ictalurid fish
