Explaining parent-child (dis)agreement in generic and short stature-specific health-related quality of life reports: do family and social relationships matter?

摘要: In the context of health-related quality life (HrQoL) assessment in pediatric short stature, present study aimed to examine levels agreement/disagreement between parents’ and children’s reports generic condition-specific HrQoL, identify socio-demographic, clinical psychosocial variables associated with extent direction parent-child discrepancies. This was part retest phase QoLISSY project, which a multicenter conducted simultaneously France, Germany, Spain, Sweden UK. The sample comprised 137 dyads children/adolescents 8 18 years age, diagnosed growth hormone deficiency (GHD) or idiopathic stature (ISS), one their parents. participants completed child- parent-reported questionnaires on (KIDSCREEN-10 Index) HrQoL (QoLISSY Core Module). Children/adolescents also reported social support (Oslo 3-items Social Support Scale) parents assessed relationships (Parental Role subscale Adjustment burden (QoLISSY- additional module). agreement strong (intraclass correlation coefficients .59 .80). rates discrepancies were 61.5 % for 35.2 % being more prone report lower (42.3 %) (23.7 %) than children. better explained by family socio-demographic variables: poorer larger while parental reports. Regarding discrepancies, higher significantly underrating, overrating HrQoL. Routine healthcare research contexts should include data as complementary sources information, consider context.
