摘要: Mevalonate pathway inhibitors have been extensively studied for their roles in cholesterol depletion and inhibiting the prenylation activation of various proteins. Inhibition protein has potential therapeutic uses against neurological disorders, like neural cancers, neurodegeneration, neurotramatic lesions. Protection neurodegeneration promotion neuronal regeneration is regulated large part by Ras superfamily small guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases), particularly Ras, Rho, Rab subfamilies. These proteins are prenylated to target them cellular membranes. Prenylation can be specifically inhibited through altering function enzymes mevalonate necessary isoprenoid production attachment elicit a variety effects on cells. However, this approach does not address how affects specific protein. This review focuses regulation GTPase prenylation, different techniques inhibit inhibition affected cell processes.
