摘要: The variability in water chemistry of samples taken on a monthly basis (October 1990–December 1991) from 31 shallow, artificial ponds southeast England was examined. survey revealed great within-year variation the concentrations nutrients. Total phosphorus (TP) displayed no overall marked seasonal pattern, although many sites experienced summer peaks with simultaneous increase soluble reactive (SRP) concentrations, indicating that sediment P release occurred. SRP and nitrate (NO3–N) pattern similar to observed deep, stratifying lakes, 55% 94% surveyed, respectively, experiencing decline spring, maintaining low levels throughout highest occurring winter. Dissolved silica (SiO2–(Si) also distribution spring associated diatom growth, followed by an summer.
