摘要: The assumption that social class inequalities in health are a persistent feature of the life-course has been questioned recent issue this journal. On evidence mortality and chronic illness, pattern youth Britain appears to be characterised by lack differentials, striking contrast early adulthood where familiar picture is observed. possibility finding relative equality consequence limited, potentially inappropriate, indicators used now tested on cohort 15-year-olds West Scotland. range indicators, from subjective assessments objective physical measures, very little variation found. possible transience is, however, indicated findings 35-year-olds same study, among whom marked gradients apparent. Possible explanations for transformation into one discussed.
