摘要: Phytoremediation has emerged as an attractive idea for the utilization of plants and microbial communities environmental cleanup. Despite advances made in this research area, there are still blockades its implication on a wide scale. These hurdles include limited metabolic rate failure to break down numerous complex compounds or tolerate/accumulate heavy metals. The in-depth knowledge factors affecting contaminant’s translocation, volatilization, uptake, bioavailability degradation is required, order increase phytoremediation potential bioenergy crops. use crops offered viable option that can aid energy supply showed pivotal role meeting targeted goals renewable sources. Moreover, genetic engineering opened new avenues by offering chance direct gene transfer enhance crops/plant capabilities advanced “omics” methods will our understanding towards integrated activity patterns between associated microorganism harness it growth, structural organization communities, accumulation, tolerance detoxification capability plant. In chapter, mechanism high-throughput biotechnological strategies adopted ability have been described with challenges harnessing phytoremediation.
