摘要: Abstract Serum IgG antibody levels to adult Brugia pahangi antigens were measured in uninfected offspring from and B. pahangi-infected female jirds. Antibody titers sera of infected females mimicked the maternal titer during suckling period. Neonate peaked at 2 weeks age as high 1:4100, then decreased well below by 8–12 age. Concurrent 2-week-old neonate recognized identical Western blots. Spleen cells filariae-exposed unexposed failed produce measurable vitro. Progeny mothers nursed showed circulating worm similar those homologously reared offspring. Conversely, born an had no serum antibodies antigens. Blastogenic responses spleen mitogens photohemagglutinin pokeweed mitogen, antigens, not different between groups. Mean areas pulmonary granulomas induced intravenous inoculation antigen-coated beads also did differ 4- 8-week-old progeny or females. These results suggest that demonstrated jirds are maternally derived via milk do alter cellular antigen-stimulated blastogenesis granulomatous inflammatory response.
