摘要: Polyethylene-b-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PE-b-PMMA) diblock copolymer has important interfacial applications. Hence, a PE-b-isotactic PMMA was synthesized using SiMe2(Ind)2ZrMe2 and MAO cocatalyst. The polymerization mechanism the origin of isotacticity were duly explained. An appropriate nonisothermal Avrami-Erofeev crystallization model developed to compare kinetics above with that PE homopolymer. For both polymers, well matched entire differential scanning calorimeter crystallinity profile, notably for single index, predicted cylindrical crystal growth. This particularly overcomes limitations published models, provides interesting insight into crystallization. block significantly decreased heats fusion, % crystallinity, relative function; increased rate constant; introduced minimal dilution effect whereas formed continuous or percolated phase. study correlates catalyst structure, tacticity, melting behavior. © 2012 American Institute Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 59: 200–214, 2013
