Tentative zinc biofortification of banana fruit via bunch spray and bunch stalk feeding

摘要: Due to the importance of banana consumption in developing countries and producing zinc‐rich foods, objective this study was evaluate feasibility bunch sprays stalk feeding with Zn aiming biofortify fruit. were carried out a dose 80 g ha⁻¹ using ZnCl₂ combined chelating agent two cultivars (‘Maravilha’ ‘FHIA 18’). Bunch by fixing plastic bags on stem end containing solutions ZnSO₄ (0, 0.5, 1.0 2.0 g L⁻¹) (‘Williams’ ‘Prata Ana’). Both strategies resulted maximum fruit content 0.14 mg 100 g⁻¹. Although it possible increase from 18’ Ana’ cultivars, both did not result biofortified level which would fulfil dietary reference intake (DRI) 2 mg dia⁻¹ for children. Banana affect quality, but fruits lower ratio, pH ascorbic acid content.
