摘要: Background and Purpose— The metabolic syndrome, a clustering of disturbed glucose insulin metabolism, obesity abdominal fat distribution, dyslipidemia, hypertension is associated with cardiovascular diseases. aim this study was to examine the relationship as defined by National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) World Health Organization (WHO) criteria, risk for stroke. Methods— Population-based cohort an average follow-up 14.3 years from eastern Finland. A total 1131 men no history disease diabetes at baseline participated. Sixty-five strokes occurred, which 47 were ischemic strokes.
