摘要: Throughout most of the twentieth century, it was very widely believed that pattern slow wave potentials recorded from neocortex (the electrocorticogram) or surface scalp electroencephalogram) is closely related to level consciousness. This concept illustrated in Figure 4-1 taken Penfield and Jasper’s 1954 book on “Epilepsy functional anatomy human brain”1. In general, high levels consciousness excitement were said be correlated with relatively low voltage higher frequency (fast) while sleep unconsciousness lower (slow) potentials. I skeptical about this, part because doubts validity psychological interpretations any cerebral events, certain well-established facts did not agree conventional theory. One these discovery by A. Wikler 1952 atropine, a drug blocks some effects neurotransmitter acetylcholine, produces an abundance large amplitude activity electrocorticogram dogs without producing behavioral coma.
