The EU needs a social investment pact

摘要: In this Opinion Paper, we argue that long term-goals of social and economic policy in the EU must not fall victim to short-term orientations prompted by banking crisis hit global economy 2008 subsequent financial fiscal problems affecting Eurozone the EU at large. We capture these long-term goals with notion a 'social investment imperative'. Social is not new idea per se. first revisit perspective as proposed towards end 1990s draw some lessons from past experience.
