摘要: An alkyl α-cyanoacetate is reacted with ammonia in a glycol solvent medium to form cyanoacetamide. Advantageously and without requirement of separation the formed cyanoacetamide (even though next step entire procedure can optionally commence pre-formed cyanoacetamide), 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide situ by treating an appropriate mixture bromine alkali metal bromate at about 10° C-40° C. Excellent stable antimicrobial compositions may then be prepared, as part overall integrated process incorporating resultant 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide-containing reaction mass quantity paraformaldehyde or equivalent satisfactory stabilizer suitably adjusted pH level.
