Scanning magnetic field microscope with a diamond single-spin sensor

摘要: We describe a scanning device where single spin is used as an ultrasensitive, nanoscale magnetic field sensor. As this "probe spin" we consider nitrogen-vacancy defect center in diamond nanocrystal, attached to the tip of device. Changes local seen by probe are detected optically monitoring its electron paramagnetic resonance transition. The room-temperature may be useful for performing imaging and spectroscopy, characterization nanostructures down atom level.
