Evaluation of serum cytokines in cats with and without degenerative joint disease and associated pain.

摘要: Degenerative joint disease is common in cats, with signs of pain frequently found on orthopedic examination and radiographs often showing evidence disease. However, understanding the pathophysiology degenerative associated remains limited. Several cytokines have been identified as having a role humans, but this has not investigated cats. The present study was performed to use multiplex platform evaluate concentration 19 chemokines serum samples obtained from cats without pain. Samples total 186 were analyzed, representing range severity radiographic evaluations categorized by scores scores. Results showed that higher concentrations IL-4 IL-8, while exam IL-2, TNF-α; increased IL-8 may be confounded association age.
