摘要: Motor speech disorders, including apraxia of (AOS), account for over 50% the communication disorders following stroke. Given its prevalence and impact, need to understand neural mechanisms, we used resting state functional MRI examine connectivity within a network regions previously hypothesized as being associated with AOS (bilateral anterior insula (aINS), inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), ventral premotor cortex (PM)) in group 32 left hemisphere stroke patients 18 healthy, age-matched controls. Two expert clinicians rated severity AOS, dysarthria nonverbal oral patients. Fifteen individuals were categorized 17 AOS-absent. Comparison without demonstrated that had reduced between bilateral PM, this reduction correlated impairment. In addition, negative PM right aINS effect decreased increasing non-verbal apraxia. These results highlight involvement begin differentiate mechanisms from those other motor impairments stroke, help inform us driving differences planning programming impairment
