摘要: Abstract The traditional population balance model has been successfully used in the past to describe size reduction industrial crushers and grinding mills, but presented limitations scale-up from information obtained laboratory. paper presents a general that describes comminution of multi-component feeds full-scale machines using combination breakage mechanisms, fundamental material characteristics, mechanical environment, allowing overcome formulations. Since it is based on detailed description each stressing event, this can be particle different types mills same characteristics. In order demonstrate its potential, applied ball mill, where environment was predicted Discrete Element Method particles described continuum damage mechanics. A good agreement observed between measured results batch test for single-component feed. Simulations dynamics continuous mill demonstrated effect change feed composition both product fracture strength discharged mill.
