摘要: The major protein of the outer mitochondrial membrane Neurospora was purified. On dodecylsulfate-containing gels it displayed a single bend with an apparent molecular weight 31000. reconstitution experiments artifical lipid bilayers showed that this forms pores. Pore conductance dependent on voltage across membrane. inserted into in oriented fashion, current being sign voltage. Single pore 5nS, suggesting diameter 2nm open pore. This shows number similarities to porins gram-negative bacteria.
