摘要: The objective of this study was to examine the immune toxicity alkyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) retene (7-isopropyl-1-methyl phenanthrene) in rainbow trout. Retene is a common PAH associated with combustion terrestrial plants or industrial effluents. Rainbow trout were injected intraperitoneally single dose 0, 1, 10 mg/kg and sampled at 21 d. Within each treatment, co-injection formalin-killed Aeromonas salmonicida phosphate buffered saline sham used stimulate system. At highest (10 mg/kg) there an increase total blood leukocyte counts but only A. salmonicida-injected group. This result paralleled by leukocytes differential cell counts. There overall salmonicida-specific antibody titre due antigen injection also significant stimulation production response dose. tissue level, immunohistochemistry revealed greater density B-lymphocytes spleen head kidney. A number specific transcripts including Th2 marker CD4, TCR, MHCII TNF alpha, Th1 CD8, INF gamma examined quantitative RT-PCR no influence on expression related genes either increased CD4 co-receptor observed both concentrations. appeared be mildly immunostimulatory, its own, combination inactivated challenge these data suggest that exposures fishes may not pose risk eliciting immunotoxic effects.
