摘要: Rationale and Objectives. We investigated non-receiver operating characteristic (non-ROC) methods for the selection of processing algorithms digital image compression. Methods. performed a multipoint, rank-order study with 20 postero-anterior chest images, each processed using four different algorithms. Seven radiologists reviewed these alongside digitized noncompressed image. Observers were forced to rank order similarity and/or difference images nonprocessed in case. Results. A two-way analysis variance rankings was statistically significant (p = .025), indicating that one scheme yielded clearly perceived as most similar images. The selected not lowest quantitative from measured by root mean square error. Conclusion. Non-ROC designs are highly sensitive small differences among can be used select
