摘要: Predators exhibit flexible foraging to facilitate taking prey that offer important nutrients. Because trap-building predators have limited control over the they encounter, differential nutrient extraction and trap architectural flexibility may be used as a means of selection. Here, we tested whether induces in architecture stickiness spider's web by feeding Nephila pilipes live crickets (CC), flies (FF), dead with stimulated (CD) or (FD). Spiders CD group consumed less protein per mass lipid carbohydrate, spiders FF carbohydrates protein. from built stickier webs silk, whereas more radii, greater catching areas compared other treatments. Our results suggest is likely explanation for prey-induced spider variations.
