摘要: BACKGROUND Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a problematic condition due to poor prognosis and difficulties in management. We evaluated the treatment outcome of 378 patients referred 6 Italian Oncology Departments. METHODS Demographic clinical data were collected. Treatment was assessed terms chemotherapy (line treatment, pemetrexed-based regimen, other therapies), surgery, radiotherapy. Response therapy, progression-free survival, overall survival evaluated. RESULTS 36 342 received best supportive care active respectively; 86 underwent 26 trimodal therapy. Disease control after first-line achieved 74.2% (75.7% treated with pemetrexed combined drugs 69% as monotherapy). The disease rate 82.6% re-challenged individuals.
