摘要: Background and aim: Isolated thoracic aortitis (ITA) is a newly-defined pathological entity with still-unknown etiopathology some potential relationship to IgG4-related systemic dis- ease. We investigated patients on whom the ascending aorta was operated identify clinical histopathological features of ITA its disease. Methods: Two hun- dred fifty-one underwent replacement aorta. Retrospective review all his- tological reports done noninfectious aortitis. Immunohistochemical analysis resected specimens performed in cases. Results: found 11 (4.4%) aorti- tis aged 52 79 years; nine were female. All re- placement. The 30-day mortality 0. During follow-up period (median 12 months) four died (two them because progression aortic disease). None seven living devel- oped any diseases, had normal serum levels IgG IgG4. Conclusions: Surgi- cal treatment has acceptable short- mid-term results. Because IgG4 survivors, postoperative corticosteroid therapy may not be indicated pa-
