摘要: This paper reports a life cycle assessment undertaken to assess the environmental impact of range biosolid reuse options selected by Kaikōura community. The were identified as: vermiculture and open-air composting; mixture with biochar; direct land application disturbed sites for forestry using native tree species; exotic plantations or pastoral farmland. aim study was calculate possible impacts so information can be used in community dialogue process where fate biosolids is decided upon. All showed improved performance relative landfilling. least composting had most impact. first time this approach has been applied management New Zealand, whilst there are limitations, should encouraged other communities because it increases engagement waste decision-making environment.
