摘要: Abstract The action of inducer, and the kinetics transcription, utilization, degradation lactose operon messenger RNA have been studied. Cells Escherichia coli were made sensitive to actinomyein by brief treatment with EDTA, then induced. levels β-galactosidase thiogalactoside transacetylase assayed at various times before after termination induction removal inducer or addition actinomyein. results support following conclusions. 1. (1) β-Galactosidase are degraded approximately same rate. If it is assumed that this produces a polycistronic messenger, both ends 2. (2) Inducer does not affect rate translation RNA. 3. (3) After induction, 2.5 minutes (at 30 °C) required for become insensitive A total four These suggest transcription take minutes, while an additional 1.5 complete entire operon. 4. (4) appropriate cistron has transcribed, remaining events culminating in appearance either 2 minutes. synthesis proceeds still being formed. polycistronic, can be postulated translated simultaneously.
