摘要: Background: Streptococcus pyogenes or group A streptococcus (GAS) is an important human pathogen responsible for a broad range of infections, from uncomplicated to more severe and invasive diseases with high mortality morbidity. Epidemiological surveillance has been crucial detect changes in the geographical temporal variation disease pattern; this purpose M protein gene (emm) typing most widely used genotyping method, than 200 emm types recognized. Molecular epidemiological data have also development GAS protein-based vaccines. Methods: The aim paper was provide updated scenario prevalent infections developed countries as Europe North America (US Canada), 1st January 2000 31st May 2017. search, performed PubMed by combined use terms (“emm”) (”invasive”) retrieved 264 articles, which 38 (31 7 America) met inclusion criteria were selected study. Additional 5 papers cited European articles but not search included. Results: emm1 represented dominant type both America, replaced other only few occasions. seven major identified (emm1, emm28, emm89, emm3, emm12, emm4, emm6) accounted approximately 50-70% total isolates; less common remaining 30-50% cases. Most are included either one 26-valent 30-valent vaccines, though some well-represented found not. Conclusion: This study provided picture among iGAS since year onwards. Continuous on distribution strongly encouraged determine potential coverage developing multivalent
