摘要: Studies of sexual selection have traditionally focused on explaining the extreme dimorphism in male secondary traits and elaborate mating behaviors displayed by males during courtship. In recent years, two aspects received considerable attention literature: an extension concept to other (i.e., postcopulatory behaviors, external internal genital morphology, gametes, molecules), alternative mechanistic explanations process coevolutionary runaway, good-genes, conflicts). This article focuses need for as a mechanism change courtship (or) characters narrow-sense selection) all components sexuality not necessarily related or broad-sense selection). We bring together evidence from wide variety organisms show that sex-related genes evolve at fast rate, discuss potential role models limit speciation strict demographic conditions treat it simply epiphenomenon adaptive evolution.
