摘要: Abstract Four distinct storm-generated or induced depositional types have been recorded in lower Carboniferous shallow marine limestones of Ogmore-by-Sea and Three Cliffs Bay, South Wales. Type A deposits whole oriented horn coral lag graded with large regular Zoophycos . They are interpreted as turbidite an area below storm wave base. B characterized by short wavelength hummocky cross-bedding Rhizocorallium small arcuate , Planolites -like burrows were probably formed currents at depths just above C consist crinoidal long escape deposited fair weather D contain skeletal sandstone large-scale, low-angle cross-bedding, generally without bioturbation (apart from borings), indicating a shore-face beach environment. The belong to the Courceyan limestone ( Zaphrentis Zone) Arundian Caninia Zone). It appears that pattern trace fossils bioturbation, well sedimentary structure texture, change characteristically changing effect depth this area.
