摘要: As the United States’ population ages and grows more diverse, scholars practitioners have grown increasingly concerned about persistent disparities in cost quality of end-of-life health care, particularly with regard to African Americans. Although a variety factors may influence these disparities, most agree that underutilization hospice care by this is an important contributor. Drawing from culture-centered approach communication narrative theory, present study explores American patients caregivers’ experiences takes initial step toward addressing care. I begin study, first, positioning it within existing literature on then outline study’s context ethnographic methods used complete it. Next, discuss (a) participants’ understanding utilization, (b) how narrate their decisions (c) co-constructed solutions for creating partnerships between community members local organizations.
