摘要: The amplitude for the one-photon transition $2^{3}S_{1}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}1^{1}S_{0}$ in helium is shown, from quantum electrodynamics, to be computable terms of nonrelativistic wave functions. Numerical evaluation gives a decay rate 1.2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ ${\mathrm{sec}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$.
